PLANTINGS & LAWNS
Plants!
That's what it is all about.
Much of our work goes to insure healthy beautiful trees, shrubs, groundcover and perennials. No other single element adds more enjoyment to our landscapes.
The axiom "The Right Plant for the Right Place" guides the choice and installation of plantings. Twenty years of experience has taught us a lot about the practical and creative aspects of planting. Whether you have clay soil, deer problems, shade, exposed locations, or other site problems, we know the suitable choices.

Lawns
"My green thumb came only as a result of the
mistakes I made while learning to see things
from the plant's point of view."
~ H. Fred Ale
Lawn installation is largely a matter of soil preparation.
"If you have a dollar for gardening, spend 90 cents on soil, and 10 cents on seeds". This saying is very true for lawns. Peterson Landscape can prepare your soil to accept the type of lawns that grow well in the Northwest.
Once the soil is in shape, we recommend hydro-seeding as a planting method. Hydro-seed is a mixture of seed, fertilizer, fiber (mulch), a sticking agent, blue-green dye, and water, which is sprayed onto prepared soil. It has the advantages of being economical and very successful.
By contrast, sod installations (rolling out turf like a carpet), which are sometimes appropriate for small lawns, cost about four times more than hydro-seeding.
